The West Street Hotel is located in downtown Bar Harbor, Maine on Mt. Desert Island. This conveniently located Downeast hotel is the ideal Maine family vacation spot. We’re across the street from our sister hotel, the Harborside, and the historic Bar Harbor Club and Spa, complete with tennis courts, another pool, two jacuzzies, and convenient meeting and event spaces.
Bar Harbor contains a large portion of Acadia National Park, including notable landmarks such as Cadillac Mountain, Thunder Hole, and Sand Beach. Since we’re right in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor, the West Street Hotel is the perfect jumping off point for your next Acadia adventure.
Our property boasts a variety of different room and view types to fit your unique travel style- from premium rooms with sleeper sofas and extra seating to two bedroom suites to our more affordable deluxe rooms. Our ocean front rooms have a direct view of the water, while our harbor accomodations overlook the Pocupine Islands and Bar Harbor.
The Hancock County- Bar Harbor Airport (BHB) is about 25 minutes away from the hotel and Bangor International Airport (BGR) is about an hour away. While we don’t offer a hotel shuttle, guests can reach both airports by taxi and BGR has a Bar Harbor Shuttle. The next closest airport is Portland International Jetport (PWM – about 3 hours away). If you fly into Portland, we recommend making your visit a classic Maine coast road trip! Stay the night at the Portland Sheraton to explore the foodie paradise that is Portland, ME before making your way up the midcoast for a night at our sister property, the Samoset Resort.
