What are your spa hours?
Spa Hours through June 23rd
Monday — Closed
Tuesday — Sunday 9am to 6pm
June 24th through End of Season
Monday — Saturday 8am to 7pm
Sunday 8am to 6pm
How can I make a reservation?
To ensure your preferred service, date and time, we strongly suggest making all spa reservations at least two weeks in advance. Spa reservations can be made by contacting us directly at 207.288.5251
Are there locker rooms or relaxation lounges at the Spa?
Guests at our Bar Harbor, Maine Spa enjoy full access to our extensive facility on the day of their service. Before and after your treatment, please enjoy the men's and women's locker rooms, each featuring personal amenities, robes and slippers as well as showers with bath products. We also invite you to experience our luxurious steam room, sauna, modern fitness center, multiple relaxation areas, full-service hair and nail salon, outdoor Jacuzzi area and lounge. Please note that guests under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian at all times.
Who can guide me in choosing my spa treatments?
Our Spa Coordinators will assist you choosing the treatments best suited to your unique body and desired outcome. Please feel free to ask them any questions you may have concerning our spa services and facilities.
What if I have special health considerations?
Treatment considerations and adjustments may be required for spa guests with certain medical conditions. Please notify our Spa Coordinator of any health concerns, ailments or disabilities before booking your treatment. If you experience discomfort at any time during your service, please alert your therapist immediately.
What if I am pregnant?
There are many beneficial treatments that can be enjoyed during your pregnancy as well as certain services that should be avoided. It is strongly suggested that you receive clearance from your physician prior to receiving any spa treatment. Please notify our Spa Coordinators if you are pregnant when you book your appointments so that they can offer guidance. Please note that treatments will not be offered to guests in their first trimester.
When should I arrive at the spa?
We suggest arriving 15–30 minutes prior to your first treatment. This will allow you time to change, shower, enjoy our sauna or just relax in our relaxation lounge.
What if I am late for my appointment?
We will hold your appointment for 15 minutes after its scheduled start time. If you fail to arrive within 15 minutes, we will cancel your treatment and you will be charged in full for your scheduled service. Late arrivals up to 15 minutes will still be charged in full but only receive the balance of the remaining treatment time. This ensures guests receiving services after you are not delayed.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you must reschedule or cancel your appointment, please notify us 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment to avoid being charged the full fee for the service. Cancellations of packages or private parties also require a 24-hour notice. A credit card number is required at the time you book your treatments.
What about gratuities?
An 18% gratuity will be added to any spa service or treatments you receive. Additional gratuities for your spa technician can be added at your discretion.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards and traveler's checks. You may also charge spa services to your guest room or suite at the Harborside Hotel, Spa & Marina. For your convenience, payment is accepted prior to your treatments.
What should I wear during my treatment?
Most body treatments are enjoyed without clothing however, please wear whatever is most comfortable for you. The body is fully draped during all treatments except for the area being worked on. Robes and slippers are provided in the men’s and women’s locker rooms.
What about my comfort?
This is your time and you should delight in the experience to the fullest. Whether it is the room temperature, the amount of massage pressure or the volume of the music, please notify us of any discomfort or personal preferences. For the comfort of all our guests, we request that cell phones and similar devices be turned off while in The Spa.
What about my jewelry and valuables?
If you are staying in the hotel, please leave valuable items in your guest room or suite. The Spa at Bar Harbor Club cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.
Is there a minimum age for treatments or spa facilities?
An adult must accompany all spa guests under 17 years old. Young adults between the ages of 12 and 17 may receive certain salon services when accompanied by an adult guardian. Guests must be at least 17 years old to use The Bar Harbor Club Fitness Center.
Should I shave before a treatment?
Shaving is recommended but not required for men prior to a facial. If you do choose to shave prior to your facial, please be sure to do so at least two (2) hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Guests should not shave prior to any body treatments or hair removal services.
Are Gift Certificates available from The Spa?
Spa Gift Certificates are available and can be purchased for a specific dollar amount or for a particular service. In addition to spa treatments, gift certificated can also be used towards purchases in our Spa Boutique.
